The Montessori Spindle Box is a material that will help the child develop their mathematical abilities. The Spindle Box is composed of two rectangular wooden boxes with 5 different compartments in each one of them.

This experience introduces children to the written symbols of numbers. Through sorting the spindles, children are able to make the connection between the number quantity and it’s correlating symbol.
Children are also introduced to the idea of zero and its symbol. As children fill the compartments with the spindles, they are also exploring number sequencing and patterns.
Purpose: Understand the 1-9 number, numbers, names corresponding relationship.
Understand the concept of 0; perception is empty.
Excellent homeschool or classroom early educational material, improve children’s interests of counting.
